Re: Why?
Thu, June 10, 2004 - 8:15 PMTotally agree!! Not much of a HH scene here in the states that I know of. Only crappy house in SF (can find some good DnB, but getting harder day by day). Where is HH truly alive in the US?? (Other than on my technics and cd players)... I see some stuff in Connecticut sometimes on happyhardcore.com, but it's too far!! -

Re: Why?
Tue, June 15, 2004 - 3:31 PMI feel so sad sometimes that there aren't more of us around. Esp. when I'm sitting at home listening to the happyhardcore.com radio and it says there are 300 other people listening, it's like, damn, where do you all live? When I first started going to parties and I told people I like happycore, they'd often say something like "Don't worry, you'll grow out of it" But i love it more now than I ever have, and it's been a good 5 years, and I don't even really go to parties anymore! For a while I couldn't understand how someone could NOT like this music, it's everything that's good! But everyone has different tastes. That's why it's so important that we who love this music come together, to prove (if only to ourselves) that we're not the only ones out there! I think the really disappointing thing for me was when I finally got to go to a couple happycore "NRG" parties, not as many people were responding to the music, dancing, getting into it, as I thought there would be. That's why I want to make a pilgrimage to the UK or Toronto someday, to see what a happycore party is supposed to be. -

Mon, December 6, 2004 - 2:19 PMAlrighty!!!
Hey kids this is Dj MoNkEyBoY. I jes moved to SF about 4 months ago to go to school. I spin Happy Hardcore and I represent evrywhere. I know the stories the hating that goes on about Happy Hardcore! Shit man It pretty bad in SF. There is no scene here. In LA (where I'm from) the scene is okay but people only wanna hear the the same 10 fucking anthems over and over again. If I hear eyeopener one more time...
LOL!
But it sounds like Im not alone!
Check it out!
Lets throw a party.
I have my own decks and soundsystem.
I have a couple of locations scoped out here in SF.
Anybody interested?

Re: Why?
Fri, March 4, 2005 - 4:02 PMHey Everyone,
Just wanted to say a few things.
1. I'm all for the HH trip to Europe.
2. I 2nd the notion for an SF party. I actually live in a warehouse and my roomie is gone for the month of March. There is plenty of room for decks and speakers, etc... although I don't have any. Let me know what you guys think. Would have to be this month.
Peace

Re: Why?
Mon, May 23, 2005 - 2:40 PMWell the same question has been asked in the psytrance scene I'm in (in Oregon).. I guess both scenes are just cult followings! Hehe. I'm listening to HHC on the computer right now and can't get enough of it. I think probably a lot of people consider it shallow and insincere, but I just find it cute and fun and energetic. For me certain music goes with certain moods and mindsets, and happy hardcore is perfect for times when I want to put myself in a childlike and loving type of mood.
I really really want to make it out to a HHC party one of these days, complete with bright colors and hugs! :)

Re: Why?
Mon, October 31, 2005 - 12:43 PMPsy is a niche in terms of the rave scene, but psy is really big with the new-age hippy crowd. Too bad you live out on the west coast, because my friend runs a psy monthly in Cambridge and sometimes in Boston. I attend pretty much every one and it was really weird to see how the crowd was so different from the rave crowd, but I did find several ravers in the crowd that I made friends with. My friend that throws the psy monthly also travels up and down the coast to play at different hippy festivals where psy is the music of choice.
There was a big HHC fad here in New England about five years ago, but it died down in the wake of junglism and the 2-step/garage movements.
Recently, I see this one hardcore DJ on line-ups every now and then, and he does not always spin HHC. I finally got booked to spin HHC for a party this December. The only reason I got booked is because I met this guy that wanted to start throwing parties and was into hardcore. -

Re: Why?
Mon, October 31, 2005 - 8:25 PMIt is a psytrance monthly in Cambridge out at the American Legion Outpost on the Charles called Psyforia. The monthly is still going on. As a matter of fact I was out at this month's on Friday night. www.sonicbeating.org is the site and there is also a Sonic Beating tribe.
If you are in the New England area, then you can hear me spin hardcore at Revival in Nashua. For info: www.myspace.com/beatforgeproductions
I got some ideas for a hardcore movement here in New England, but hardcore DJ's are a dying breed here. Almost like we are a novelty or something...
